How to read this result
These notes explain what the check is showing, where the data comes from and what the main blind spots are.
Three independent samples
VirusTotal aggregates dozens of engines; AbuseIPDB collects abuse reports against IPs; PhishTank is a human-vetted list of phishing URLs. Each is a different sample of the internet, and a row is only a verdict from that one source.
Clean is a signal, not a guarantee
A domain listed nowhere today is not a guarantee for tomorrow. These lists describe what has been seen and reported — they cannot see what has not happened yet.
Skipped is not clean
A list that needs an API key and has none configured is reported 'not configured'; one that did not answer is 'no answer'. Neither is a verdict, and the totals count only the lists that actually answered.
Detections
The detections number is the sum of independent reports across the lists that answered. One report is noise; a spread across several lists is a signal.
